The Project:
After winning the tender, Hamlet were contracted to carry out the re-configuration of Clinical Genomics Laboratories and office spaces within the Clinical Molecular Pathology building at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton.
The re-modelling works were all undertaken in a ‘live’ laboratory environment, in a phased manor, requiring close co-operation with the end users and the hospital. We ensured that a critical path was maintained, and all the programme targets were achieved.
The works included:
- Dismantling existing partitions.
- Construction of new partitions.
- Alterations to existing suspended ceilings.
- Installation of new doorsets.
- Installation of laboratory benching.
- New floor coverings.
- Re-decorations.
- Alterations to existing and installation of new electrical systems.
- Alterations to existing and installation of new lighting systems.
Alterations to existing and installation of new data and telephone infrastructure.
Alterations to existing ducted ventilation and air conditioning systems.
Installation of new air conditioning units.
Alterations to existing plumbing and drainage.
Installation of new plumbing and drainage services.
Re-location and alterations to existing critical freezer alarms and BMS connections.
